License to Fit is recognised within the industry as the standard to which tyre fitters/technicians are trained. On passing the course both new and experienced fitters/technicians will gain a formal City & Guilds qualification and also a Licenced Commercial Tyre Technician Licence. This will show training and competency.
The Roadside Recovery element is essential for technicians carrying out wheel / tyre removal and replacement at the roadside. On passing the course it will provide them with an industry recognised accreditation and offer peace of mind to employers and customers alike that the technician is aware of the safe working practices when working safely at the roadside. The REACT card is valid for five years.
Modules covered on the course are Tyre recognition – tyre sizes and other sidewall makings, Wheel recognition – types and identification, tyre/wheel relationships, wheel maintenance, fixings and torque settings, Tyre maintenance, Health and Safety, Regrooving – legal/technical aspects, practical assessment, Truck tyre minor repairs – legal/technical aspects, practical assessment, Tubeless tyre fitting practical assessment, Wheel changing procedures/manual handling, practical assessment, Customer care, Wear and Damage – recognition of common wear patterns, Tyre and vehicle regulations, Vehicle inspections and Roadside Recovery Theory & Practical.
On completion of the course delegates will receive their formal qualifications and licenses – City & Guilds, NTDA License Commercial Tyre Technician – Category 1: Truck, REACT License both valid for 5 years.
