Licence to Fit (including Roadside Recovery)
License to Fit is recognised within the industry as the standard to which tyre technicians are trained. On passing the course both new and experienced technicians will gain an industry recognised City & Guilds accreditation.
Description
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Recognise the importance of different tyre sizes, load/speed indices and other sidewall markings.
- Demonstrate safe fitting and removal of truck tyres.
- Demonstrate correct regrooving, minor repair, wheel changing and fleet inspections procedures.
- Utilise the knowledge and experience gained to improve Health and Safety procedures.
- Increase the level of customer care thereby generating customer loyalty.

The Roadside Recovery element is essential for technicians carrying out wheel / tyre removal and replacement at the roadside. On passing the course it will provide them with an industry recognised accreditation and offer peace of mind to employers and customers alike that the technician is aware of the safe working practices when working safely at the roadside. The REACT card is valid for five years.
